Team Meeting

Join a Winning Team!

Join an enthusiastic, engaged group of volunteers working for the benefit of all residents of Chula Vista.

In addition to its outstanding group of full-time staff, Chula Vista depends on a motivated team of volunteers to keep things running and continue enhancing Chula Vista’s reputation as one of the premiere Fraccionamientos at Lakeside.

Chula Vista is continually looking for qualified individuals to join its Board of Directors or Standing Committees. Even if you’re only a part-year resident you can still make a valuable contribution as an Alternate Board Director or working on specific initiatives.

What have current volunteers accomplished recently?

  1. Balanced budgets that not only provide for stable operation of our association but anticipate future needs and improvements.

  2. The drilling and commissioning of a new well that will serve all residents for decades to come.

  3. The development of a professional website to keep residents (and potential future owners) aware of all the services and everything needed to enjoy life in Chula Vista.

  4. Replacement/upgrading of water delivery and sewage pipes originally installed in the 1970’s.

  5. A “ concession agreement” with the municipality of Chapala which recognizes Chula Vista’s status as a Neighborhood Association able to provide essential services to its members.

What’s in it for you as a volunteer? Volunteering for the Board or Committees will reward you with:

  1. The opportunity to meet and learn from similarly engaged volunteers.

  2. Insights into what goes on and what it takes to manage an association as complex as Chula Vista.

  3. A real education on how local and state governments actually operate.

  4. The satisfaction of making a visible contribution to your neighborhood and “paying forward” for everything previous volunteers have contributed.

  5. Contributing to enhancing the reputation of Chula Vista as a desirable, premiere residential  location at Lakeside.

What are Chula Vista’s immediate needs for volunteers and qualifications?

  1. For the Board or Directors, either full or alternate -  Leadership abilities, results oriented, ideally a business/management background,  collaboration experience, conflict resolution skills

  2. Water - any experience with potable wells and water supply. Ideally an engineering or government service experience

  3. Bylaws - non-profit experience

  4. Neighborhood relations - an organizer, negotiation skills

  5. Construction and zoning - building, construction, architecture background
